Covid update 13 Nov 23

13/11/2023

We recently emailed all residents and families to inform them about confirmed cases of COVID-19 within Te Hopai this month, Nov 2023.  Family members of affected residents have been individually notified, and necessary measures are being taken to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents, staff, and visitors.

Key Points:

Confirmed Cases: 11 residents tested COVID-19 positive.  They are all in the rest home.  All residents are in isolation.  Our GPs have reviewed all positive cases, and appropriate medical attention is being provided. They are all stable.

Enhanced Safety Measures: In response to the outbreak, we are implementing heightened safety protocols throughout the facility. Rest home remains isolated but open to visitors at their own risk.  All visitors are informed on entry.  The staff roster is locked and we are not sharing staff across the rest of the home and Kowhai.  We are monitoring the health of all residents and staff through symptom checking and COVID-19 testing.  We encourage full participation to facilitate early detection and containment.

We are open to visitors in all areas but encourage you to only visit if you are well. Please rest assured that we are taking all necessary steps to contain the spread of the virus and protect the health of Te Hopai. Your cooperation, understanding, and adherence to safety measures are crucial during this time.

Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to the well-being of our residents. We will keep everyone informed of the situation and any changes in protocols.

Many Thanks
