Covid-19 Update 20 Aug 21

Kia ora koutou

You will be pleased to know we are all still well and safe.  Unfortunately as there is now COVID recorded in the Wellington region, the government has extended the level 4 lockdown until at least Tuesday midnight.  We are preparing as though this will be extended beyond Tuesday, but will keep an eye on the news and announcements as they are released.

We thank you for your patience and understanding in staying away.  We continue to monitor our residents closely and want you to be assured that we will and do make visiting exceptions for palliative care residents. We will make contact immediately if we believe you need to be here.  Any visits such as these will follow strict protocols and are only with management approval.

As I said last time, we are going to start Skype meetings from Monday.  It was lovely to watch residents interaction last time, so we look forward to welcoming you remotely. These are by appointment, there are limited slots and are between 10-12 and 1-4 daily.  We can run these on the half hour, but if they are full we cannot “slip you in” so please understand if we cannot make your preferred time.  To make an appointment, please email  Alice is at work Sunday – Thursday so you need to contact her on these days to make an appointment Please include your skype name so we can easily find you and your preferred time.  As we have multiple chrome books, we will send you a wave or message to accept us before the meeting starts.  We have several Te Hopai accounts we use for skype, and will not know which one we are using until the time.

If your resident has their own device, then we are happy to assist them with calling.  Let us know if you want us to help.

I am sure we will all be watching the news closely over the weekend, and as always we will be in touch with any updates and changes as necessary.
