About Joy Florals:

My name is Angela and I love to share joy through flowers!
I have a real heart for the elderly, when my grandmother went into a rest home in Australia we visited her (from NZ) she was thrilled to have a vistor and I saw from her wall calendar that she had been counting down the days to our visit! It broke my heart that I wasn't able to visit more due to distance. So when I got back to NZ I decided to volunteer to visit someone else's grandmother instead who might be in a similar position - I signed up to Age Concern and weekly visits began. I made a wonderful friendship with a lady (M) I was visiting for almost 2 years, I fell pregnant with my first born and she happened to have been born on (M's) birthday! We laughed at how this was the best birthday present I could give her! M sadly passed away 8 months later. I observed a lot of the residents over those 2 years of visiting, the ups and downs, the loneliness, the operations etc. Life can be hard and I knew I wanted to bring a smile to these peoples faces.

So I started Joy Florals....

Joy Florals is online florist based on the Miramar Peninsula in Wellington. Research shows that we feel less anxious, agitated and depressed after receiving flowers - in fact it can have a positive impact on our mood for days. Joy Florals is underpinned by a strong social purpose and exists to bring joy to as many people as possible through giving and receiving flowers. We partner with Rest Homes and give flowers each week to those in hospital, respite or palliative care, so every bunch you buy helps enable us to give more. Joy is greatest when shared.
