At dawn on Saturday, if it were normal times, we would gather in crowds - thousands strong - and stand silently in cool morning light to remember the fallen.
But Saturday will be different. We won't be standing shoulder to shoulder while wearing our forebears' military decorations, buying a poppy, or listening to the haunting Last Post as the ever-diminishing number of veterans march to the cenotaph.
For some, this will be their last Anzac Day.
